What would you pick ? spec again sry

I got my spec down to 2 options

Total = £497.13
Or

Total = £567.13

To with the rest of system.

Had a look at some benchmarks 470 seems to keep up or be faster then 5870 but they could old ones.

Go with the ATI option. Unless you're playing on a massive resolution screen (higher than 1920 x 1200) then the 5850 will also be fine.

Also as in 'another option than one of the two he suggested'.

If it has to be out of those 2 cards then I guess the 5870 isn't worth the extra £70 over the 470.

Nah for any res below 1920x1200 i'd also recommend the 5850 over paying the extra for a 5870.

Res i play at is 1920x1080

Was looking at 5850 but i think 470 faster for about same price.

I really hate this bit of building new pc lol

If it's an AMD build, you won't be able to use SLI (NVIDIA), only Crossfire (ATI).

Intel -> NVIDIA SLI.
AMD -> ATI Crossfire.

At the price the 470 is now its not too bad tbh, Its not as good as the 5870 but it is £70 cheaper So I would say either is a good system. Depends how much you want to pay.

If power consumption or heat is a consideration then definately go for the ATI.

I got the money for 5870 but just thinking if its only faster by few fps i might as well save my self some money.

I might crossfire if i did get the 5870 in year or 2 but then i would need psu upgrade as well.

What % is the 5870 a head 10% 20% ?

Really stuck on this one lol

After a lot of thinking and google i will get a 5870 as its the best card i can buy right now

I will probs get asus reference design one not the V2 as i like the power connections on the side as the 9600gt just about fits as it is lol
