Hi everyone!
Guys i need your opinion as i am a bit confused here...
My current system is an AMD Phenom X4 965 CPU, at a Gigabyte MA770 UD3 Mobo (DDR2 only, non SLI), with 6Gb DDR2 and a Nvidia 570 Card. Win 7 64bit.
I can't upgrade RAM, Mobo doesn't support much better CPUs....
ANy suggestions about which should be the next move (cost-effective)?

You have a choice to make - upgrade your motherboard / cpu and ram to provide a decent platform to upgrade into over the next few years or upgrade the gpu for better gaming performance now.

If you choose to upgrade the cpu / mobo / ram then I'd advise waiting for the Z97 parts (Haswell refresh). Even if you don't want this it would be prudent to see what happens to the prices of existing tech once released.

A new GPU would give you better gaming performance but you'll bottleneck the card to some degree due to the age of the platform you're putting it into. This option also assumes you have the case space and available over-head on your power supply to power the new card.

My choice? I'd take the long term view and upgrade my cpu / mobo / ram

Thanks! Case is Thermaltake element V Full Tower and PSU is Corsair 750W.
I, too, think that upgrading the GPU (which is not that bad) will bottleneck because of the rest of the system. Is there any way i can keep the CPU (phenom 965 isnot that bad either) and buy a new mobo with DDR3 support which can support Phenom and upgrade it later? And, of course, also buy new sticks of DDR3 ram?
What i'm trying to say is if i can split the mobo/cpu/ram upgrade into 2 parts, so it becomes easier money-wise.
Any ideas?

Many thanks! So, what i need is a mobo with AM3+ socket, that can support my current Phenom 965 and has upgrade possibilities, right?
