My current specs are:

AMD 8320 8 Core @ 3.5Ghz with stock cooler

4GB Kingston DDR3 1600Mhz RAM

Ati 5850 GPU 1GB DDR5 Memory clock @ 1000Mhz -Overlcock's to 1150Mhz and core clock @ 725Mhz - Overclocks to a Stable 860Mhz. Get a lot of heat though.

Corsair 520w modular PSU

Biostar TA970 MoBo

Samsung EVO 250gb SSD

External 1tb usb 3.0 drive

CoolMaster Glite case - just ordered 2 coolermaster 120mm jetflo (white led) fans for it. Right now, no intake fan/s! just one outflow.

---

I would like to play BF4 on high and GTA V when it gets released for PC.

What money could I expect to pay for that?

If you have any product suggestions, sorry to be picky but I would if possible to keep the red and black scheme. (my mismatched Kingston RAM is in bue :/)

Cheers
Dual

Sorry update spec I have a samsung EVO 250gb SSD

I was thinking about RAM but my MoBo says 2200(overclocked)/1800/1600/1333 any idea on what that means?

Looking at GPU's but not sure what to go for, because I've seen the new 512bit memory bandwidth and wondering if to wait for something thats less pricey with that bandwidth.
Also would my PSU suffice a new GPU?

They are the ram speeds you can have on that board.Make sure you get the same speed(1600) as you have. If you are at stock speed, It should be ok, but dont quote me on that :P

@OwoozO
I Wasn't sure if that meant i could get upto 2133Mhz RAM?

Thanks guys RAM and GPU it is then, RAM first, I'll make it 16 GB.

Would I be wrong in waiting for the 512 Bit(radeon R7) memory bandwidth GPU's to reduce in price?

I'm not really willing to pay more than £300 for GPU

For the gpu, I'm not 100% sure, as I've mainly been reading recently on builds without gpu's. If you mean vram on the graphics card, try to get 2gb or more such as...

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-068-HS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=411 (just an example, dif model no etc)

You could get some very nice gpu's for under £300

I think 8gb of ram will be fine, if you're just gaming. The ram means I think that It can take 2133 speed, but you will have to oc it in the bios. Remember get the same speed as you have already, unless you want a whole new set.

These are just my opinions though, so I could be wrong :P hope It helped :p

Yeah any info is great. I looked at that cards performance and it looks pretty good for the price.

I was thinking getting upgraded RAM with possibly 2133 or 1800+ speed as I've heard newer games including BF4 makes better use of this. In which case I'd need a new set, and might aswell look out for a red/black pair ;).

Personally, I would either stick to 1600, or 1866... I only say this because some mobo's can be picky (most are fine-it just me being paranoid :p) & I'm not sure on that board/haven't read up/googled etc... Red and black It Is :P But hat could always go to the budget of you're gpu If things were tight? And just grb 4 more, again, upto you ;)

The 7870 I think is quite a nice card, hen you have the 79 series, and the newer amd r series (I haven't read up much on them, so won't comment!) Check out some benchmark/reviews If you wish to :) Again hop it helped, I could be wrong :P

GPU, RAM and a cooler to OC.....

YOUR BASKET
1 x Asus HD 7970 DirectCU II TOP 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card **FREE SHIPPING** £259.99
1 x Avexir MPower Red Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (AVD3U16000904G-2CRR) £65.99
1 x Prolimatech Panther CPU Cooler £32.99
Total : £358.97 (includes shipping : FREE).

Black and red as requested. If the GPU price is making you choke then consider the 270X which will save £100ish (don't bother with a 7870) although this 7970 comes with free games and knocks off the P&P.

I like the look of that honosusri!

I checked the cooler out though and doesn't say it supports AM3+ only AM3
Read up and found
The 942-pin socket count for the AM3+ is an increase of one over the AM3 Socket's 941-pin socket layout.[2] The AM3+ Socket has larger pin socket diameter of 0.51 mm compared to 0.45 mm with the AM3 Socket.

So it may not fit.
Awesome looking RAM modules. I'm tempted buy the GPU too but I think I may need to find a buyer for my 5850 before buying that GPU. :D

Thanks for the recommendations
