What would you upgrade?

Hi all,

My pc still feels pretty solid, get good fps on all the games I currently play at 1080p. I have a 2500k at 4.4 and a 7950. Would you upgrade the CPU or 7950 if you were going to?

Max £200 upgrade.

CPU is fine, a graphics card upgrade would net more of a boost in games. Something like an NVIDIA 970 or an AMD 390. Both are a bit more than £200.00, but selling your old card would help fund the purchase of a new one

I'm still running a 2600k in one of my rigs, and know that is still really solid, so as "setter" said; you're left with it only really being worth your while to upgrade your GPU, but at a £200 price point for a new card you're not going to see much improvement. Don't be pulled in by the perpetual model number creep on GPU's since except for the high end cards, real world improvement in FPS return can be minimal between iterations. (Some are even the old cards merely re-badged!) I would only bother if you could increase your budget, possibly as suggested by selling your current card. Otherwise I'd save the money for a better card later.

tl;dr CPU is fine and a new £200 GPU is not worth your while.

A second hand 290x/970 would be my choice at that budget. Youll get a nice boost probably about 50% or more fps than your currently getting. Should keep ya going for another year or two at 1080p.
