What would you want in a Benchmark Tool

I think this fits in well with the graphics card category.

So here it is..

I'm looking into developing a game benchmark tool with a slight variation and wanted some feedback on what everyone here thats into benchmarks would like to have.

Here are a few ideas of the top of my head :

1. Average, min and max fps
2. Frametimes
3. Server connected to the application to automatically upload online (similar to 3DMark)
4. Automated chart display instead of raw numbers.
5. DX and Mantle support
6. Similar spec system averages

Throw out some of your ideas to get the ball rolling

A tool that's easy to see artifacts in when the card is pushed too hard and crashes gracefully, (i.e. smooth crash to desktop rather than hard locking) when the card is pushed too far.

All of that looks pretty good to me.

I think that can be an addition as an extra tool for overclocking if Im getting you correctly ?

Something like waiting to see the Dragon statue in Heaven?

Settings used appearing watermarked to a required screenshot.

Also, wouldn't dwell on frame times too much unless you intend on spending £1000+ on a capture setup, what gets spat out of the engine (like fraps) and what is seen on screen can be two different results.

A benchmark which works with real games in online multilayer mode,
Then it will use statistical analysis to compare two benchmark runs to tell if they have comparable loading of the GPU/CPU so you can trust the results or not.

VRAM is a per card basis so maybe averages on X card, preset and resolution ?

CPU Usage +1

MichaelM - averages of multiple GPU/CPU combo users for X amount of hours played would be something great

Practically speaking though theres a lot of things that need to be done and checks for same drivers and settings etc etc

7. GPU max temp
9. CPU max Temp
10. GPU Max fan speed

Am kind of lucky as my keyboard LCD already tells me most things..

GPU useage
GPU core speed
GPU fan speed
GPU voltage
GPU Temp
GPU Vram usage

System memory useage
System Temp

A benchmark that knows how much memory it uses so it can calculate how much the graphics card is using above what is actually needed.

Where did you get those Gadgets from?

OpenGL?

A benchmark that is not effected by CPU speed/gen when testing graphics!!!!
It should make no difference if you have a P120 or a i7 5960 at whatever clocks.

Ps. Dont forget us *nix users:D
