Just want some input on the components selected, the machine has a budget of £1000 in this case.
Its a gaming machine, maybe used to overclock a little bit, or maybe not.

Yeah its one of the better ones in the X2 range, along with the 3800, the 4400 has 1Mb cache per core where as the 3800 has 512Kb per core.
You can clock the 3800 to 4800 speeds pretty easy from what I have heard, but I was thinking of the extra cache for this machine hopefully to make it more future proof for a decent amount time at least.
 
Thats not an SLI board.
The above spec will eventually have Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB 2500KS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM added to it also.
And after a couple of months a new case and psu.

Was not sure if the stock CPU cooler would be to loud or not, thats the only reason thats there.

I shall be changing the graphics card cooling along with the case and psu in a few months.

The HD I thought was ok as that will eventually be used just for windows, unless I change that to a raptor later on and replace both drives.

The MB well I did think the same thing as you regarding the fan, so I may change that for a Asus A8N-SLi Premium nForce4 SLi (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard
just did not want to waste money on an SLi board, but I guess it does not matter.

The floppy drive is a fiver it will make no difference being there or not. :)
