Daughter and her boyfriend asked for directions to Xscape in Milton Keynes so i did a bit of Autorouting and then decided to go on Virtual Earth to look at the area.
The first thing I saw on the road map was loads of yellow circles and it wasn't until I clicked on the aerial map that they were roundabouts
Anybody live here and is this the world record?

I live quite near to MK, the whole place is based on a grid system of horizontal and vertical roads so there are roundabouts linking them where they intersect. The system generally works very well and the traffic very rarely becomes badly congested, compared to other places ive seen.

Doh, i thought this was about fairgrounds :o

Swindon has the best road roundabouts, a design classic

they made the road system up there in the n.american style, then added roundabouts.

having not lived there or drove through there i cant confirm, however they (local council) reckons its 'congestion-free' and takes only 15minutes to go from one side of milton keynes to the other. either way, id rather not hit those things

I was expecting a link to the video of some chavs in a playground with a scooter on the roundabout, where the girls go flying off :o

That's easy.

The "magic roundabout" in Swindon is a nightmare and often noobs will go wrong way when it's quiet :D ( me !!! )

To be honest I never saw what the big deal was with the magic roundabout  You just treat them as a series of individual roundabouts. The only problems are caused by other people not thinking about where they are going. Used it many a time and never had any problems.

roundabouts are so much better than crossroads

used to have a biggg roundabout near us

they replaced it with an expensive crossroad sytem and now your left queing ages away from it , what really annoys me is even in the middle of the night it makes you wait for 5 minutes as though its rush hour

funnily enough when the traffic lights are broke and everyone is left to do as they want roundabout styleee there is no ques or tailbacks

indeed

was suprised to see it actually including closeups of middlesbrough

the photos of my area are atleast 8 years old though

I'm in LB in Beds but we quite often go to MK. I have to admit that the roads don't get congested. Just the ruddy carparks.
