What's a good 4G EE data deal these days?

Thanks WJA96 for replying and explaining. It does seem to work fine as it is and I get better speeds than if I used land line Internet around here.

Weirdly i've noticed that since upgrading my cpu the other day my latency in online gaming has improved - is that just a coincidence?

Definitely coincidence I’d say.

Have you seen the new Teltonika RUTXR1 router? Not cheap (£300) but it can load balance two 1GbE WAN ports and two built-in SIM cards so you could put two SIM cards in and get the combined bandwidth of both.

Yeah that would interest me now. Happy to stick with the SXT for the time being, what would make the deal there would be another provider offering unlimited so two bills stayed under like £35pm.

as per ofcom no one is allowed to use the term unlimited in any way if there is a hidden limit of some sorts. fair usage policy or not if they try and charge you extra for an item they advertised as unlimited you can take them to small claims court and will win every time.

May be, but if they are throttling your connection, they are not stopping your use (unlimited) its the speed of the connection which you need to monitor. Some have been caught plopping high users onto slow pipes.

Anyone know the cheapest way to get an EE unlimited data SIM at the moment?

Currently on three which gives me 70/80mb and 30mb upload. Got an EE PAYG sim and tested in my mobile got 160mb DL and 80mb UL

To add, when I tried pushing EE for an unlimited SIM for my router they wouldnt drop below £30pm. This broke the deal for me as 3 came out at £18pm so not much could do about that one. I think EE are the best speeds from where I live but I will try it at some point and see what the speeds/stability is like.

3 can be hit and miss, when its good I get 30down 25up, averages out more like 15down 15up.

£30 pm isn't too bad. Cheapest I can find is £37pm on a 24month contract

I pushed the retention team hard as I was basically dropping them. They offered to install the outside modem unit but would not budge on me having to pay for the engineer to visit and install at a cost of £70 I think it was. They stuck to their script though when they rang me a couple of weeks later as I asked for some more time to think over it, but even that tactic didnt get me further so I just cancelled my BB with them as it had came to end of contract.
