What's a good android box these days

also VP9.2 and accurate colour space mapping ;) :p

Hmmmm Youtube HDR isn't a huge loss for me, and I leave it on Rec709 90% of the time until I watch an HDR movie. But you're right, is there anything on the market which DOES do everything yet?

4k HEVC + HDR10 in Plex / Kodi
DTS-HD / Dolby TrueHD bitstream
UK Catch Up apps (iPlayer, ITV Player, 4od, 5od) (Bonus for iPlayer HLG, I've been using a Roku stick for the world cup :()
Reliable Colour space mapping / switching
Reliable refresh rate switching
VP9.2 for Youtube HDR
Netflix HDR
Amazon Prime HDR

Is there actually a device that does all that yet? We need a Shield 2 :p.

Yeah, it's frustrating, I ended up giving up with a "one box" solution and use a Vero 4k for Kodi/Plex which at the moment is untouchable for home library streaming and the LG inbuilt apps on the TV for all the rest. The whole thing is made easier by using a Harmony One and hub remote so everything is controlled by a single remote so switching is seamless.

Got a Minix U9 find it great. Can run LibreELEC from the SD card slot rather than Android. Also does proper resolution switching. (Outputs 1080p as 1080p for your tv to upscale to 4k and switches to 4k output for 4k media also does HDR.) Optical sound port

I retract my recommendation for the mecool m8s pro l, Netflix has just blocked playback. Something to do with the Widevine licence. A real pity.
