Whats a good game which has a good - "ooooo I can see my things evolve" game?

I remember playing Age of Empires 1 and used to love building my city and watching it grow, what other RTS style games like that are there now a days?

Spec me some good ones, my debit card will love it :D

Edit : thread title is a bit spastic - my bad ;)
 
Sim City 4, Settlers games, Civ 4 things like this i would imagine you would like.

There was a game ages ago i think called evolve or somit which was you then you killed ppl then incorporated their dna to get new abilities etc. Also Impossible Creatures kinda.
 
Depends, if you don't mind cartoony-style, then Spore. Otherwise I guess Civ, Sim City, and Settlers etc is your best bet. Rise of Nations is alright.

Very good, but you must be patient a bit sometimes and enjoy ''just managing your empire'' as some people get bored due to the fact there is no story...

There aren't usually people that occasionally play it, you're either hooked and love it, or you hate it.

Fantastic games, one of the most addictive games ever, as goes for the rest of the series. So much depth and fun with the game, the expansions just adds even more of the greatness, it really rocks.

Just taking over cities with culture is pure love :D
 
Supreme Commander, build up a nice base, make good defences, very strategic, except your beloved base might not last very long sometimes.
