Im starting to wonder if the tv/broadband package is worth it now but i do like the broadband service, of course now sky are also putting up max by another £5 for no good reason, part of the attraction to sky was the deal of cheaper broadband if you have the tv package but of course that's gone out the window with this added charge, so im left wondering if it's still even worth it and if there's anything comparable, had a quick look around and im not sure what to do, any advice would be appreciated, thanks. :)

Edit: going by samknows the only LLU operators in my area are, C&W / Bulldog, Orange, Sky / Easynet, TalkTalk (CPW). From looking around everything seems to have more cons than pros compared to sky but sky are starting to take the **** with their charges going up all the time! :(

Yeah, even mid is going up and to top it off they're reducing the cap by a large amount, their reasoning is that because most people who use mid don't download much, so i ask why bother then if all they're doing is hurting those who do!?

Edit: oh but you do get let off this ridiculous charge if you take their line rental talk package, sounds suspiciously like they're trying to tie us in to their services even more so its harder to walk away!

Hmm, they're reducing Mid again? they reduced it not long ago from 40 to 10GB, you sure you're not getting confused? I can't imagine Sky reducing the cap to below 10GB.

You got any links about this?

Yeah im referring to that, didn't know it was done already (on max here), the charges for those who have been with them are coming along soon though.

Ah, just had a look at sky user, it's from when they changed their prices in march, but people already sub'd got a £5 discount for 10 months, so I'm not affected (Have sky talk, so get it for 10 quid a month still anyways) :p.

As for your origional question, I wouldn't use any of those ISPs :(.

why not just take sky talk aswell, someones got to get the line rental on your line why not sky if its going to knock a fiver off your BB

Yeah i know but its also kind of the principle, its obviously a deliberate charge to convince you to switch and be even more locked in so when the charges go up again you bend over and take it yet again without much fight, i suppose i could put up with it until fibre comes along but who knows when that will be, i hope by then things get better, i suppose i could consider it a quality of service charge, doesn't make me feel any happier about it though! :p

i know what you mean about the priciple of it, but at the end of it its still a cheaper way of doing it, and as can be seen above o2 want £15 for 16mb, sky only want £15 for upto 20mb and that can then come down to £10 with skytalk, and isnt skytalks line rental a £1 cheaper aswell

Moved from BT CALLS+BROADBAND(4MB) worked out at £66+calls on top monthly, to Sky TV+TALK+MAX BROADBAND(7MB) Average £58 including calls monthly. Can't complain at all good service all round.
