just generally looking at Processors for my board and Asus site for cpu support and I noticed a shop has a 4460 for £95 and a 4570 for £105 both used items, are those good prices? There are couple slower clocked versions £70-80, The cheapest K model is 4690k @ £155, I know apart from the 4460 the others can't be purchased new, not on here anyways which is why I'm generally asking.

Bundles of 4790k/decent mobo/ram have been going on our MM for less than £300 all in or £250 or less with a 4690k instead of the i7. It just shows how much of a rip off the prices are on Ebay. Only another 116 posts and you get access.

Thanks for replies.

TBH I didn't even think to look on the bay, but I had issues with eBay and PayPal last year, so got a new account strictly to ask questions or watch lol, but I agree bay prices are quite a rip off at times, all fair enough you need to take in postage(I used to sell with my last account) and eBay fees, but some things still are not worth the price without.

I think if I was to go down a bundle route I would have to try extra hard to sell what I've got again lol, I thought £130 for everything bar case, psu, hard drive, gpu was a fair price, kept getting people wanting to knock 100 off , but I'm not that eager to change I just like to browse.

I suppose then we can conclude from this that given the 4460 is over £150 on OC then £95 for a used one is pretty decent then?, but maybe 105/110 for a 4590 not so much? The cpu support page is showing a lot of 'end of life' unless it's the 4460(not S or T) or ends with M/U for the majority, I'm guessing this is why my 4160 i3 is no longer on the oc site in favour of the 4170? I know haswell been around since 2013/14.

Are the kabylake the only platform with overclockable i3 processors?, was tempted to go on gum and buy a £60 A6 6400k mobo bundle and overclock the **** out of it ha

Yes, the Kabylake i3 is the first unlocked i3 to come along but I wouldn't touch it at all. It is way overpriced. There is no way in hell that I would pay that much for a dual core when I paid much less than that for my 4670k.

I dread to think what the MM will be like when you get access (only another 113 posts :D) because of all the used stuff you buy. I hope you will leave some stuff for the rest of us!! Once you see the prices on there you will think you have gone to heaven. A i5 4440 recently went for £65.

i gave up trying to get my MM post count up. almost 6 years here and still no were near it. i jus refuse to spam lol. i was wanting to replace my 2500k with a i7 from the bay but the prices jus weren't good enuff. MM seems definitely the best route for 2nd hand components.
