Just received my replacement N96, and I was thinking, what don't you have to pay for on this phone?
One of the reasons I bought it was because there are so many features, but looking through the OVI booklet, I have to pay for them?!

.Which part of Nokia maps is free, because it says I can get a trial version?
.I'm on an o2 contract, is watching live tv, using the DVB-H free?
.I got Tetris free, do I have to pay for every other game?
.Can I get web access as a free bolt-on, or do I have to pay for that as well?
.Is iPlayer use free?

I understand I'm asking a lot, I've looked on the Nokia and OVI sites but they aren't very helpful or informative.

Thanks a lot guys! :)

Download games off the internet and bluetooth them to your phone, or use the cable to install them.

iPlayer is free you just need to connect to a data source, WiFi or 3G etc...

Mapping, positioning and route-finding are free. The only things you pay for are turn-by-turn voice navigation, traffic information and city guides.

There is no DVB-H service in the UK. I see no reason why you would have to pay to use it in a country where it is broadcasting.

Varies from game to game (just like software on your computer)

AFAIK it's a bolt-on. I'm not on O2.

BBC don't charge you. You only pay for data transferred (if you don't have a bolt-on)

OVI is mostly free. Nokia will not charge you for contacts and calendar synchronization, photo and video sharing (unlimited), their email service or Map synchronization. They will charge you for data storage, anything you buy at the Ngage store or anything you buy at the Music store (unless you have the ComesWithMusic plan). Nokia also has several other online services, such as Sports Tracker, which are free.

BBC iPlayer only allows you to watch shows when connected over WiFi (not 3G) so in that sense it is entirely free.:)

Not so. Some mobile providers let you stream over 3G. Three and Voda do, not sure about the others.

just talked to o2 and apparently anything that needs to be connected to the internet (iPlayer, maps etc) costs their standard internet bill (£1 per day) unless done through wifi :(

Well they definately don't allow you to with O2 at least. It comes up with something along the lines of "please connect to Wifi to use BBC iPlayer".

don't know about nokia maps but iplayer is currently wifi only(regardless on which network you're on) from what I've read.

think its against forum rules to link to 'free' ngage games, use google.

why didnt you check before buying it?
Did you get this on PAYG or is someone paying for a contract for you?
