What's an emo?

Emo is a stupid cliche'd stereotype...

Apparantly having a side parting means you're emo...
As does liking any screamo...
Oh and so does wearing converse...

I'll tell you what is strange... People who say 'I am emo' are usually little posers that want attention... HAY GUYS LOOK AT MY TIGHT BAND TEE AND JEANS

Anyways, I am bitter, tired and going off on a tangent...

Ashx
High five, put simply!

And here we go, the numbers have evened out - yet the original guys are nowhere to be seen!

I'm sorry Neon but i've got to laugh at how you are correcting everyone who's wrong about stereotypes that are so very similar, blatantly a scene kinda kid. I can't stand these emo/scene/whatever people who strive so hard to be different and preach individuality yet shun everyone not like them, I guess I kind of pity them.

I imagine they'll all grow out of it anyways.

How do they shunt everyone "not like them"? I'm friends with loads of people that dress that kind of way, they're really nice people. I'm perhaps the least 'scene' looking person there (aside from the longish hair).

Hahahaha There's no way that aiden are emo... Theyre little scene kids and sing like the kareoke round of shouting stars... UM TA ERRRR EM UM

Emo bands are surely stuff like hawthorne heights and silverstein?

Anyways I dunno. It's daft.

Cheeky edit:

I don't understand what's going on anymore!!!

We need the SA psyduck emotion for this thread plz

Pft.

There is a difference between scene emo and emo. I hate threads like this and generally the way people label things. 'Emo' is now the new 'Chav' and it's pathetic in my eyes.

Aiden are gothic punk and along with bands like Underoath and BFMV can be labelled as 'emo' music. There is a new wave of 'scene emo' arrising with bands such as Panic! At The Disco and The Academy Is... Notice the differences in both the sound and dress style with bands like Aiden. Notice a difference?

Apparently i'm 'Emo' because i like my hair in a side sweeping style and yes i straighten it. My music speaks for itself ^
