What's app android to iOS

Has anybody got recommendations for software to transfer What's app messages from android to iOS ? In this case an original Moto G and an iPhone 7, if that makes a difference.

That's what I thought too but from what I've read since getting the new phone that only works from android to android or iOS to iOS not if you are switching OS's
 
Sorted this using some software called Backuptrans. Not sure if that's the only way to do it or the best but it kept the girlfriend happy!! :)
Did the export chat history to email as a backup just in case it didn't work.
