I have my blu ray movies ripped to my netgear stora nas drive. At the moment i am using my jailbroken apple tv 2 to stream them to my dell u3011 monitor, via xbmc. All the movies are in the mkv format. Movies are streamed from the nas via wired gigabit network.
With that out of the way, the ATV2 is fairly good with all this but somtimes it struggles a bit with some movie.
Im thinking about building my own "xbmc box" soley for streaming my movies and taking advantage of other xmbc features. What i would like to know is what is the minimum spec to use for the above purpose? Ideally the smaller the device and lower power spec needed would be prefered, just like atv2 i suppose but that little bit better.
