What's best laptop for £500?

My uncle needs a laptop for internet and basic windows use i.e microsoft office stuff anyway does anyone have any recommendations? doesn't want it to be too big too.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Just curious, why is your Uncle thinking of spending £500 on a laptop that will just be used to surf the web? You should be looking in the range of £350 - £400 to be honest. Do a google search for "laptop + buy", there are quite a few laptops selling on BIG known websites...I would personally go with Dell (Excellent customer service). HP are also very decent.
 
He's considering the samsung R60 model is this a good choice? judging by the reviews it seems a good buy as you get your money's worth?
