Hey, I'm looking for 8GB (2x4) of RAM for a MSI Z68A-GD80 motherboard, I have an i7 2600K running at 4.2Ghz with the button press overclocking, but might want to do a manual overclock in the future for a higher speed.

I have a Noctua DH-d14 cooler so it has to fit under that, the few I've had a look at are:

Corsair CMP8GX3M2A1600C9 Dominator (fins can be removed to fit)

Corsair CML8GX3M2A1600C9B LP Vengeance

Kingston KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX

Kingston Hyper X KHX1600C9D3K2/8GX

I'm looking for the best performance for overclocking under £100.

Thanks.

I would suggest grabbing these while they are still on the deal. They perform great, work fine with sandy bridge boards and are low profile so will be fine with the DH-14.

May I ask what you are currently using?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Get the RAM cmndr_andi suggested, you have until 9am Monday morning to order.

Ticks all your boxes at £38.

The RAM makes no difference to overclocking with the 2600K as it's all done with the CPU multiplier.

The RAM speed doesn't change if you're at 3.4GHz or 5GHz.

If you've already got 8GB then no need to change it for overclocking.
