the fans in my antec 300 are vibrating the case a little bit and creating noise.

for instance if i put my hand on top of the case, it reduces a little bit of the whirring noise and sorts of smooths out the white noise a little. The same effect happens when i leave a book on top of it.

I'm keen to try and fix the fan noise by rolling out the rubbers onto all my fans. I was wondering which of these two methods pictured above quietens the fan more.

Either are good for quieting case fans tbh. But also check that mechanical hdd's arent causing case panel vibration as well. I had an akasa eclipse 62 case, and sometimes the side panel would vibrate a bit when the hdd span up. Cured this with a few bits of blu-tac between the case frame and panel.

thanks, the hdds make some noise but its tolerable. My primary hard drive is a SSD, and when I dont use the mechanical drives they power down/spin down.

Im going to go with the squares pureply because they are a lot easier to put on. I got those akasa fan holders with my akasa fan and they were near impossible to put on, so if they are the same/similar then I'll stock with the one easiest to install.

The akasa rubber pins are a lot easier to fit to a case than their coolers. I use needle nose pliers to pull them through.

Also, remove the grills over the fans wherever possible. Massively quietens them down.

For what you're suggesting the rubber pins will probably be less faff as they properly isolate the fan whereas with the gaskets you tend not to be as well isolated unless you also use the rubber pins.

This! And the rubber mounting pins :)

how do you go about installing this damn fan mounts?

I tried to install it on the fan first and then push it onto the case, but the metal on the case just cut out the top of the rubbers and din't go all the way through.

I now switched to putting them through the case first and then putting them through the fans. It's wrked but it's god-damn fidgety.

Case first then pull the prong through with something like a pointy nose pliers or fingers if they are massively long like some.

Fairly fiddly if you are short of space where the fan us being fitted.
