Hey guys, I currently have a pair of Astro A40's which I've had for around two years. My voice drops out rather badly when connecting the mix amp to the PC and using the headset through that. If you're not familiar with the mix amp it's one of the big selling points for the Astro's so to not use them is rather pointless ;) I bought these when I played the Xbox more but now I play more PC and record commentaries I want a mic that doesn't cut out because it's obviously annoying to viewers. I also have a blue snowball which I can't fault but it's too sensitive to be using really as it picks up keyboard noise and my computer! I'm thinking of selling both the Astro's and the snowball and putting that money together to buy a decent headset with a very good mic. Anyone got any idea's? A lot of the console guys swear by Astro's so I've come to you to hopefully help me out :) Thanks, Laura

Obvious question first: Does the mic cut out on both sides? IIRC theres a circuit board on each side to drive the mic and one side is more prone to failure than the other.

I use steelseries siberia v2 with the mixamp and they're amazing.

Sennheiser 350/360 would be great for you too if you can afford them.

Also if you have quite a bit of money, Beyerdynamic MMX 300.

Yes it does, I went through 6 pages of people having the same problem on the Astro's forum but no fix?
