In overclocking terms, for a 24/7 OC on a SB 2500k. Is it better to have a higher VCore with a lower LLC or a lower VCore with a higher LLC?

I used to run at 4.4GHz, 1.16V and max LLC. I started getting BSODs while the CPU was not under load (web browsing, music playback etc). Now I run at the same speed but with 1.25V and low LLC (maybe min level, can't remember). My load voltage is the same as it was before, 1.16V but I don't get the BSODs at low load any more.

I think this may be because LLC is slow to raise the voltage - that is, it doesn't keep up with the CPU multiplier. If that's true then the CPU might be undervolted for a second or two when it first goes into turbo mode when using low VCore and high LLC. In any case, my system is far more stable (no BSODs in a month) since changing to a higher VCore and allowing it to droop under load.

That makes sense.

I might drop mine a bit further and see how I go, failing that Imight leave it where it is.

Cheers.
