Abit LG-81 motherboard, 1Gb of Corsair DDR2 PC4300 and a 3.2GHz P4

or

ASrock 939S56M, 1gb Geil Golden Dragon ram and a 3000+ @ 2.25ghz

Thanks

EDIT:

Just to expand on this... my sister is after an upgrade. Someone is offering the top set of components and I have the bottom set. Would I be better off giving her my components and keeping the top set, or keeping mine as it is? - she will be using it just for internet, letters and general stuff. I have a x800gto2 and play bf2.... Also, for upgradability, which is better?

Thanks

have emailed you if you decide to go the intel route.

intel would better if you want an excellent all round machine lol.

but with all the amd boys on here they will probably tell ya that amd is the way to go.

I'd keep your existing system as it will be far less hassle and should be a superior system in gaming terms albeit there probably isn't much in it.

Neither is all that great for upgradability as far as I know although the Intel system may accept Conroe(maybe with a bios flash) and the ASRock might accept AM2 with an add-in card(no idea how expensive this would be) and you still won't be able to use DDR2.
