Whats better?

At a guess I would say SLi but I have never seen them compared directly. As for raw power, two X1900 series cards in Crossfire would be faster than any nVidia SLi setup.

It's all a gimmick anyway unless you're benching or have a huge monitor - ie 30".

So if your super rich (got money to burn) go for crossfire. If not SLi, it's so much more supported, but don't feel you need it, a 7900GT will do anything pretty much.

Only as far as how many motherboards support it.

As far as games go, XFire is better because you dont need to have those profiles for your games.
