Xbox 360 or sony Ps3 I had a 360 but sold it for money to get pc parts, but the consoles are pulling at me again so do i wait for a ps3 or do i get a 360 again and buy the best game ever halo 3 ?

Depends, ATM the Xbox 360 is better since there arn't many good PS3 games I've seen that are single platform although Resistence Fall of Man looks good. However in about a years time we might see some really good games to be released on the PS3 that'll perhaps take advantage of BlueRays high storage.

Personally I like the Xbox 360 you can get some superb games on there. Gears Of War and Crackdown (playing now and once you get into the game it's amazing) these I have, well worth getting.

dont forget halo 3 to be released, although the only thing i hate about the 360 is the noise is there anything to reduce it ?

If you can wait a month or so til the PS3 is released, we'll know whether these rumours of a near-silent black Xbox 360 turn out to be true. MS are supposed to have it up their sleeves to stave off the Euro PS3 launch.

The question is.... Is it worth buying a PS3 or waiting until April time when Microsoft would be looking to release Xbox 360 v2 "Zephyr". I wouldn't want to pay £425 for a PS3 and then two months later they cost £325. What would you reckon the biggest price drop would be in two or three months? I can live with £50 to £60 :P

I know any console is as only as good as the games which are out for it, but if all things were 'hypothetically' equal game release wise then I would much rather play the PS3 over the 360 any day. It's almost silent - plus I do prefer the controller and I'm not too bothered about online gaming.

If you're big into online gaming and want games galore right now then go for the 360. If however you are thinking long-term and the noise really would bother you then go for the PS3 - provided you have enough equity in your home to extend your mortgage to help pay for it ;)

It's hard to really knock either console, both are definitely next gen..

I think the simple fact the 360 has been around longer with a much bigger decent games portfoilio, coupled with the current packaged prices of 360 + HDD + component leads + Headset + 2 wireless controllers + XB Arcade unplugged + PGR3 for under £300 , just as a next gen games console with excellent on-line facilities, you'd need a pretty special reason to go for the PS3..

Saying that if you want Blu-ray built in, and a 'quieter' unit, and don't mind spending £150 more (+ HDMI Lead ~£10 from cheaper places) then you can ge the PS3. You may have to wait a bit for the killer titles to appear, and the online should improve as time goes on.

In a year or so, the PS3 should have the titles, and improved online to hopefully compete on all levels with the 360, and hopefully prices for the console may drop by then....

Yeap. I wish Sony would employ Valve or something who have experience at managing online games (other than MS obviously :P) to sort out PS3 online play. I would gladly part with £50 a year to play online in a stable and happy environment. I cannot give a review on it until mine arrives in the mail though.

It depends on what you want.

The 360 at the moment is the best out there at the moment because of it's library of good solid games.

The PS3 is more expensive but it has lots more things included which the 360 doesn't have such as the Blue Ray player and the wireless adapter, and the online is free.

Do you want to play MGS, Final Fantasy and whatever the ICO team are making and wait 1-2 years to play them, or do you want to play Mass Effect, Bioshock or Halo 3 this year?

Basically, it's not a great time to buy a PS3 because it's just launched and it's lack of games at the moment makes it not worth the purchase. If your going to buy one right now then buy a 360 and get Gears of War and Viva Pinata (it rocks).

I already own a Wii and 360, but if I was in your situation I would wait and play Okami, FF12 and God of War 2. Then I would probably buy a PS3.
