What's causing more noise

Seriously my Corsair HX850 is louder than my TXP on 100% fan, hard to believe isn't it.

I've just moved my computer location and changed desk as well as putting a TXP in all at the same time. Something is making me PSU work harder.
It's always been the loudest fan in my system but for some reason now it must be running near 100% about 2 minutes into booting a game up and it slowly comes in all in one go.

I've noticed there's no heat coming out the back of the PSU (plenty out the TXP :p) so it can't be working to hard, if I removed the PSU dust filter from under the case the PSU fan will drop a little perhaps 10/15% in speed and sounds around the same as it used to be after a hours gaming.

I've also moved everything into my garage and change my surge protector extension cable, not enough power??

Could it be the TXP using more power? I used the card in the system for a day before I moved everything and I'm sure it was the same as my 1080 previously noise wise. Could it just be a echo in my garage, the system was up against a wall before.

The setup....

I'd be inclined to consider the possibility of airflow being a problem. 100% PSU fan speed, still insufficient PSU cooling and a reduction in PSU fan speed if airflow is slightly improved by removing the filter...I think airflow might well be part of the problem.

I'm really not a fan of bottom-mounted PSUs sucking in air from whatever tiny clearance they have between the bottom of the PC and the surface it's on.

I'm reading some fiction set in medieval England. Your computer room makes me think of a monk's cell in a very ascetic monastery :)

Right in the feelz. I'd hate to let out a sly toot in that room!

lol - that room would sure amplify and noise of your PC cooling fans - suggest a carpet could cut that issue down considerably. Alternatively, try a different PSU if that's the nosiest component in your rig.
