What's causing my mk1 Focus to be down on power?

For a month or so now my Focus feels extremely down below ~2500rpm, it's as though I need to be 1 gear lower than usual to get the same amount of power as before.

- When in gear, if I'm below ~1400rpm and I put my food down, the engine makes a rattling/tapping noise until ~2000rpm when it seems to disappear.

- When idling, the engine sometimes 'judders' and the lights dim, it feels as if it wants to stall.

- When setting off in first, there's a sort of 'clunk' sound between my foot coming off the clutch and the car bothering to move.

Any ideas?

I had similiar problems. Turned out to be the HT leads. I got a set of Bosch for £25 and it's all good.

Never had a clunk though.
