What’s coming from Intel to desktops after 9900k?

i12 109970k 14+++++++++++++++++nm

In all honesty, I've not seen a great deal to get excited about from Intel this year.

Probably the 10900K and we'll all be blowned away by it's groundbreaking 5% improvement on IPC. Overclockers will be taking preorders.

And no doubt be touting it's extra headroom by selling (5% IPC to 6.5% IPC) by charging another £120 for delidding to save you the bother.

Why even bother improving architecture when you can just rebrand that "good ol" Skylake once again?
Just add two cores more for 10 and price it same as AMD's likely 16c/32t Zen2.

That will be probably the extra they charge for not disabling hyper-threading.

I hope, that if the current limits are node related that we'll see 7nm soonish.
If they are architecture related then I hope that we'll see a switch to something different. Like the move from Netburst to Core.
