I'm hunting down this superb old board and wondered what the best one to go for is? There's an Asus SE/ SE An pro turbo a deluxe and more?. I'd have any at mo but what you think?

At the time i bought the deluxe jimbo, it was the top end model in the ddr2 section, there was a p5q3 that used ddr3. But it wasnt a popular board. The deluxe was closely followed by the p5qe, main differences were better power phase on the deluxe, a few extra sata ports and a bigger heatpipe assembly iirc and x2 ethernet ports. Both were excellent boards, the p5q pro turbo came out a bit later, but still an excellent board as pastymuncher has mentioned. The se was a mediocre one tbh, as said, extremely poor layout. If you look about, you could pick up the deluxe for very little money, iirc i sold my deluxe just over 3 years ago for £70.00 to fund an upgrade to x58. Should be much cheaper now. Arguably the best overclocking board ive ever owned.

There is a modded Mbios by Ket over at XS for these boards as well. I used them on my Pro Turbo and it enabled me to hit 4.17Ghz. Could'nt do that with the stock bios. Mbios gets away with slightly lower volts too. Doubt if you would need it for a Q6600 though.

Thats really great information thanks Setter. Im looking for deluxe or pro turbo now. Its confusing cos some are just called P5Q and nothing else and then SE / E / turbo / deluxe on and on. But thats a real help cheers. Cheers Pasty muncher thats a handy thing too.

Dont forget the P5Q Premium as well which is basically the same model as the Deluxe but with some different slots i think. The Premium and Deluxe were supposed to have better power regulation (phase?) which is supposed to improve overclocking ability iirc.

Pasty's settings (with stock bios) have me sitting at 4.01GHz with a Q9550.

Well I've sourced me a lovely P5Q - E of the auction site. It has all the cables and stuff still in wrapping in bags. Nice. Can't wait to put my E6600 in there and see what it can do. Many thanks. : )

It was a tad more expensive than on here. £42 for the board and £9.75 postage but it's only money and I so wanted one lol

Oh that's marvellous thanks. I can't wait, should be Tuesday now. And I'll add another 5770 to crossfire in there too. Should do me for what I do for now, if that makes sense? Lol. It'll do til I'm ready to go down the i5/7 etc routes. :)

Rr-r-r-r-resurrected!

Interested in clocking my Q6600 on my P5Q deluxe as I'm considering an upgrade, If I can get a stable O/C I'll hold off for 6 months+, just upgrade GFX ;)

Anyone still have any settings floating around for the Q6600?
