Dont think there is another thread on this so thought I would start one for some inspiration...

Not sure on a starter yet but was thinking of doing lemon chicken with champ and seasonal veg for main

She loves chocolate souffle's so I guess thats desert sorted too but might surprise with something else...

So whats on your menu?

Some pan fried duck with noodles. Then a nice chocolate melting dessert. Not really planned as just going to go out and grab what I like and cook it up.

Originally my plan was to do a nice meal which included.

Scallops and chorizos cooked with garlic butter - Starter

Prepared Lobster for the main, with green salad with a ceaser dressing.

For after I was looking at doing something like a creme brulee or something not sweet (GF is diabetic)

But GF decided that we shouldn't waste the money on that as we are buying new carpets next week and as such are having frozen pizza and some beer :D

KaHn

A microwave meal for one :(

Nah, as I'm single I may actually get some ingredients together for a slap up meal and treat my parents. Maybe a nice Thai curry followed by home made apple crumble!

Starter - Scallops with Herb Butter and possibly a bit of parma ham.

Main- Not quite sure yet. I've had some good suggestions from another forum I'm on so I'll probably go with something from there. Beef- something anyway.

Dessert- Strawberry Meringue Crunch.

Not sure about wine yet, will probably just pick one with a nice label :D

Small tip, cooked pizza is better then frozen pizza

I'm not cooking, the wife is, this is whats on the menu....

Asparagus wrapped in Parma ham

Pan fried chicken breast in a creamy sauce with bacon, garlic, mushroom, onion, mustard and white wine in it, accompanied with roasted vegetables (sweet potato and parsnip) and french beans.

Lemon cheesecake with clotted cream.

All of the above is home made by the way, no bought in rubbish.

For starter I am making crab cakes on a bed of baby leaf salad with balsamic reduction and a lemon wedge.

For main I am cooking a nice cut of filet steak (aged from market not supermarket junk) placed on blanched strips of Mediterranean vegetables with sweet potato mash and jus.

For dessert I am making a chocolate mousse with fanned strawberry and dusting of caster sugar.

Should give us plenty of energy for the shag fest that ensues afterward :D

You mean the young chap who took you out, isn't going to do something nice for you?

I have no idea what to cook the other half. :( Any ideas greatfully received.

Not doing a starter as he doesn't particularly appreciate them :D

Steak, garlic mushrooms and probably chips.

Dessert : Me :D Already filled up on birthday cake this week made with chocolate, cream and marshmallows (and love) so I think we are all sorted on the dessert front.
