Although I did see 'Star Trek: The Motion Picture' on the day of release and it's forever ingrained into my conciousness.

DS9 - definitely the series with the most substance/character content imo

FIrst Contact - Old fashioned time travel/save the world story + the borg, whats not to like?

The Trek universe has become too formulaic for yet another TV series.

Frankly, I love Star Trek but it tends to span the spectrum for me. For example, ST:TNG had some fantastic episodes (Cause and Effect) but some absolute dross (Shades of grey).

If I had to pick a particular show though it would have the DS9 (the Dominion war was just epic) and First Contact. On the whole though, they're all good to wile away some free time.
