What's faster?

Sandybridge 2700K overclocked to 4.8GHz

Faster? 4.8Ghz is faster. What type of perfornamce are we talking about? ny particular benchmark?

IB approx 5% performance increase over the SB clock for clock so 4.5 IB will be about the same performance as the 4.8 SB

If its for gaming an i5 3570K is a better option as games can't (yet) make sure of the extra threads the i7 has anyway.

Couldn't find the 2700k comparison but heres the 3770k compared to the 2600k. The 2700k has pretty much identical performance at stock speeds to the 2600k anyway.

They will be more or less the same but if I was to choose one I would pick the ivy bridge. Both CPUs would be very close to each other in terms of performance, probably so small difference it will be hard to notice.
