Today, I have been disconnected 4-5 times and when the internet is working it feels like 56k dial up!

AOL said they were upgrading our line 2-3 weeks ago and that you would experiance random disconnects and line problems, fair enough. Its been longer than the 7-10 days they quoted me. Paying £30 a month for a internet connection which is downloading at 10kbps!

I can't surf the net or play games!! I have reset the router, flashed the routers firmware so at this point in time I am out of ideas. Calling them never seems to help as it usually goes through to call center!

Anyone else experiancing problems at the moment which sound like mine!?

Any suggestions :(

getting exactly the same probs here m8.

Ive been getting disconnects, Saturday midday every 5 minutes. Now my line seems a bit more stable but seems to max out downloading at about 30Kb..

Oh, and im on 1meg.. was on 2 but i have been through hell recently with AOL, already had one engineer out who said my connection was on the limits of the line so went back to 1meg for safety.. now this!

Righto, aol message boards are full of it.

+ When i go on AOL live help, usually there are about 7 people in a queue.. i was just number 118...

Same here, was perfectly fine before i went out about half 2, came back about half 4 and i was having trouble connecting, was getting the old timed out error 718 the remote computer didn't respond, now that i am on though speeds are terrible, on 1mb silver here, and on speed tests im getting like 7k to 20k, best i got was a download of 72k, but its around the 20-30ks at the moment, but its an AOL problem which they know about as theres a big thread over at ADSLguide about it. :)

I don't connect using the software btw.

Got a link to that thread on the guide? wouldnt mind giving it a read myself. Ive had nothing but trouble from them recently.. and ive been with them for years but i think im ready to change provider.

Only thing is, during all of this i downgraded my line which means i actually have a new contract so should be roped into that.. but they are breaking the contract by a) constant disconnections and b) not full line speed.

Very odd, just came back on about 2 minutes ago ran a speed test and it said 11k lol, so i just logged off, re-logged back on and its back to full speed again 120ks, so to make sure it was fine i did the same, logged off and back on, and yes, still getting my full speeds, so ive set a torrent away and im hitting 100k already.

Voyager modem here to, but all i did was log off the connection when it said 11k download speed, i didn't need to reboot my PC, i just logged straight back on, and as i say its running fine again now, re did the speed tests a couple of times and its back to normal, im downloading at over 115k now.
