When im running torrents my connection just dies after a while. To get it to come back i have to turn modem off/on at the wall.

I'm not sure if it only happens while running torrents but even when they're not going particulaly fast it still dies.

The client im using is Azureus with default settings and I've never had trouble with it in the past and my connection is NTL 10mb and it's been happening for about a week.

Im not sure if it's the modem, connection or pc.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried using another client?

It could be that the modem simply can't handle the amount of simutanious connections - used to have an old netgear router that used to lock if I had to many connections open in p2p.

I've not tried but it will do. Although I've been using this modem/client combination for a long time.

Ive got this exact problem, with NTL 10mb. When using p2p software connection dies. Whats traffic shaping afraser2k?

It's restricting the speeds you get to discourage heavy downloading, usually just on ports that p2p software uses (like bit torrent).

:)

If you're using a router make sure you've got a port forwarding to the machine with the software on it. Also make sure you specify the port in the client software. You can also try the software without the router in place to see if it's that that's affecting your connection.
