Hi Guys,

I've got a HP HDX16 (as you might be aware from the numerous threads on the subject :D ), which has a Fingerprint reader on it...

Now everything was going swimmingly. I was able to: log into my computer, Log into websites, run repeated 'Search' functions within websites (Searching for threads containing 'Simian' on here for example!)... this worked on IE8, Firefox and even Chrome...

But recently its started only allowing me to log onto my computer and nothing else!... it won't recognise any login/search fields in websites anymore... no matter what browser I try!..

Has anyone else experienced this sort of problem? :( , or is no one as lazy as me when it comes to logins/searches? :D

Would un-installing it, and removing it from the Device Mangler then re-installing it solve my problem?.. or do I have to live with it??.. :(

Cheers
Simples :)

Similar thing happend on my stinkpad, had to diable "allow windows to power off this device" from within its properties.

Same lappy here and no problems with the fingerprint reader yet (and hopefully not never ever ever guvnor!).

While you're here, had any issues with the volume/bass/treble controls? Always seem to display a different level of bass/treble to what I've just set when I switch from 1 level control to another and can be frustrating.

Yep mine does that too!... switch from Volume to Bass to Treble and they don't seem to show the actual level you've just set!...

Still can't get my reader working as it used to!.. only Windows login and nowt else!..

Tried rolling back the driver and then letting the hp update stuff do it's thing? I'm pretty sure there's been 2 updates for the fingerprint reader in the last 3 weeks.

First thing I looked at, but the 'Roll Back the Driver' button is greyed out!..

I thought about removing it from the Device Mangler and re-booting to see if it would re-install its self (like when going from PIO to DMA mode in XP)... Might be my next course of action!...
