So I got a mobo and stuff

Asus A8V-VM SE; had a AMD 3000+ sitting around. Got my little brother to post it. A few pins got slightly bent, and straightened them.

I switch it on, am sure the RAM is fine, tried a couple sticks. And it's no screen out.

Now, sure, could be the cpu, but the pins straightened fine, and if I remove the RAM it does the right beeps meaning it's processing fine right?

But could it also be the motherboard? As there's no video out at all?

What's the most likely? Iv bent pins before on cpus and straightened them and they've been fine...

I dont know what to replace. Could it be anything else im naively missing?

Is like it's doing stuff; or at least checking the ram, but not init'ing the gfx out.

Anyone know boot order, it is possible mem check is before CPU?Surely not?

i take it that this board has onboard gfx ? you got any other cpus you can try or anything you can slip that one into. i would have thjoght if pins were only bent not broke it would have been fine. but i guess that is first place to start if mobo is new.

Might be worth clearing the cmos. Maybe its been used with a graphics card in the past and for some strange reason is still trying to use that for video. Definitely worth a minute of your time to try.

To be honest I've bent CPU pins back and had them work, but also done it and had it not work, Id say thats the most likely problem.
