whats gone wrong

all my desk top icons are now the same ( adobe ) when i click on any icon on the desk top or the start menu it only opens up the adobe reader program, i'm running win 7 if that helps...thanks

That sounds rather strange! Have you installed any recent programs or drivers that might be conflicting and causing this problem?

Could be the file associations have become corrupted. Have a look on google for a fix. I'd also do a virus scan/malware scan to play it safe too.

yep, sounds like a virus I had not too long ago, malware/virus scan. then restore the file associations with a registry edit, should be able to google one.

DOwnload malwarebytes (free) and do a scan for anything dodgy

Try a system restore to before it happend.
