Whats happened to Arathor on WOW?

I just logged in for the first time in about 6 weeks, and find arathor missing and my characters gone?

Whats happened?

they are releasing the new patch i think - all servers seem to be down.

it should be back up by now but they are still not so they must be having problems.

I don't know if they are, if it was released on the American realms yesterday then it will be today. If not then it's just another normal weekly downtime.
