Whats happening to my tv?

What are these blackish blobs down the side of the tv? The sided are also very hot to touch. Is it on its last legs?

Its a samsung js9000 bought in 2016, i beleive it was one down from the flagship model that year or the year before.

Backlight LED's failing, pretty well known. My Samsing monitor has a couple of LED's exactly like that

White spots and light bleed on UE55JS9000

About 1 month ago I started to experience white spots on the left and right edges of my TV. These have progressively got worse over time to the point where they make the TV unwatchable. This problem seems to be quite common with these models...

It's a Samsung. I actively stopped buying Samsung after the LED TV buzz issue.
