Hi,

Ive heard that northwood pentium 4's run a lot cooler than a prescott.

I have a 3.0c pentium 4 and without being overclocked I get a temp of 42c.

Is that right for a northwood, should it be lower or is that about right? thats just with standard hsf on it.

I'm still running a P4 2.4c @3.2 on an IC7 mobo.

Currently MBM is reporting:

System : 30c
CPU : 41c
Power : 30c

Under full load cpu hits around 55c.

s478 prescotts are about 50 idle and 65-70 load

(the one i had was 55c idle and 73load on zalman 7000 , but summer temps.)

northwood average load temps are about 50c i think (depending on board)

Mine gets up to 65 degrees under 100% load, but then it has 1.65V going through it. It's nothing to worry about and well within spec. A P4 will throttle itself if it gets too hot (70+) and shutdown eventually if it carries on heating up.

This is on a Abit BD7-II.
