whats intel speed equivalent to....

I have AMD Mobile Sempron 3000+. whats intel equivalent speed ?

The 3000 indicates an equivilent 3Ghz, so somewhere around there.

I think he means mobile version, so its the Pentium M or Celeron M. Not sure on the clockspeed though.

that what i thought but when I go into properties of my computer, it says, 792Mhz.

Were you doing anything at the time to utilise its power? With it being a mobile (although I don't know for sure) I guess they throttle themselves down when not in use to save power. Hence the 792 Mhz. Run something like TOAST to max it out, then look at what frequency it's running at.

your laptop will slow the cpu speed to reduce heat and power consumption when your not stressing it. Toast will stress it so it should go up to full speed which i think will be 1800mhz

The Laptop's probably set to something like "Portable/Laptop" in the power settings. Set it to "Always On" to speed up the processor.

I know on the old AXP’s the speed designation (ie 2400+) was that chip compared to the old Athlon processors?

An AXP 2400+ is as fast as a 2.4Ghz Athlon CPU

Don’t know how the new A64 FX X2 and Opteron are scored tho?
Don’t think its compared to an Intel tho?
I think the none 64bit sempron’s are still clocked on the old scoring system
