Each time I touch a case, even after being grounded (touching a rad or so.), I get a damn shock from the psu or case, this are mostly cheap 30€ cases, are all cases like this, even when I rub the hdd cage with the top of my finger I can feel it becoming all static, this didn't used to happen about 3 years ago, what's happened? (ps. I'm 16, I used to build pc's for my dad a few years ago, but quit about 2-3 years ago, and hardly touched any pc's in the meanwhile but my own, I can't renember getting shocks and all from when I was young. )

Haven't noticed any increase recently although a few years back I went through a period when everytime I got out a car and closed the door I'd get an electric shock. Doesn't happen now but to this day I try not to touch the metal on a cars bodywork when I get out, fingerprints all over the glass. ;)

Synthetic materials including carpets and clothing which you are picking up electrons from is often the cause.

In the winter the air is ‘normally’ drier so static can be more common.

can be a lot to do with shoes.

I got a new pair the other day and if i slide my feet across the floor at bluewater I can shock people :D

Wow, another local. I'm in Swanscombe myself...Glad to see that not everyone around here are complete know-nothing chavs :)

Its not clothing I walk around in nothing but boxers usually in house in summer...
It happens only when I'm grounded, when I raise my feet and just touch the case from my chair it's fine...
Don't think its the carpet either its Linoleum my floor...

Still I get shocked, it's not my own static, its the static on the case...
Although, I do create static when I rub the top of my finger on the hdd cage with is odd imo.
