What's more powerful?

Hi,

My graphics card will soon be winging its way to Gigabyte for rma. In the meantime, what would be better to use :

a) igp (mobo in sig)
b) AMD 3450 256mb.

Edit : google says supposedly similar performance to the A8-3850, but I'm not up to date at all with that side of things. I'm guessing around 6400 / 6500 desktop performance?

cobbling together reviews from different sources, the HD4000 seems to be the better choice

The HD4000, it is actually a decent little chip for what it does.

With an i5 3570k and the HD4000 it can run Bf3 on low graphics at 720p.

Yes, it's certainly better than I expected.

I just tried CS:S with all the settings left as they were for my 480, and the loss in fps was minimal, and even then, any difference was only noticeable at all in intense situations.

The 3450, iirc, only ran the game adequately when all the settings were lowered, including an even lower res.

One of the OCUK members once posted some benchmarks on a stock HD4000 vs HD4000 overclocked and the returns were very impressive so you might want to give it try.
