I'm sorry but do you mean like a stress testing new gear ?
If that then I'd do a 2hr run of memtest / prime or ibt / 3dmark and see if you get any problems and if temps are fine, then play a game or two.
It's always good to test your new stuff to check if everything is fine, sometimes there can be a problem (even with brand new gear) that won't show up during normal usage but will come out during stress test. Better be safe than sorry late !

do i just open prime and leave it running do i have to click on anything?
