whats some free simple video editing software?

i downloaded that free Davinci Resolve 14, but couldnt get my head round it, so ive also installed Lightworks 14.5 which again confused me as it didnt do what i was trying to do, so ive downloaded another Wondershare application as i used to use older versions before, this time that Filmora and have sort of made couple videos using the basic format option, but because its free trial it has an awful watermark bar thats more visible than the older versions and so i am wondering what would be good alternatives and likely comparable to wondershare, but less or non existent watermarks?

i am not a professional in the slightest and never have been nor probably ever will, but i want to edit videos in a short amount of free time.

Tried something really simple like windows movie maker? It’s still available online.

actually no i havent, didnt even cross my mind if im honest, think i used it onces before, i use windows 10, so would that matter?

not exactly after anything too simple, im only using the 'Easy Mode' of Filmora, i may or may not bother with an intro to my videos like i used to, but would like to apply my own music/sounds still with possible option to add stuff during video, i dont mind watermarks for free software, but the one on Filmora is just stupid, old wondershare was faded enough to see it, but not block visual of actual footage.

Virtualdub and virtualdubmod offer the very basics. Cut/paste some filters etc.

I installed Windows movie maker after my last post, simple enough to make a start and end title and add my own music, the credits add on option with text only seem better than filmora which can’t display the text correctly, but I will check the other ones you linked and see what they have to offer, eventually I will likely just go through a bunch till I decide which I like the most lol. Got a lot of Xbox one recordings I need to edit too which I want to avoid using upload studio as the YouTube app refused to supply upload option which is why I want simple to use, but better than Xbox app than to just dive in with the top stuff ha.
