8*337fsb ram at 227mhz 2700mhz

9*311fsb ram at 200 2800mhz

both seems stable, slightly more vcore on the 2.8ghz oc

which is the better OC IYO?

it depends weather the stuff you use the pc for likes a higher mem bandwidth or a higher clock speed

AMD based rigs see no performance boost from using high htt's and low cpu multi's. And I can't really say 54mhz+ on the memory will give more of a performance boost than another 100mhz on the cpu. Do you need to loosen up timings to get to 227mhz on the mem?

I guess my opinion edges towards number 2.

Faster CPU speed is always better! :)

Remember reading an article somewhere that showed faster CPU speed was always the best...

erm...maybe missing something...but why cant you go 8 x (whatever it is) to get your CPU running at 2.8Gz??????

You allready know it good for 2.8Gz at a voltage....are you RAM or chipset limited?

edit.....

Its 8 x 350 to go 2.8Gz...duh:rolleyes:

ahh...OK. For a minute I thought you were on a conroe system. 2.7-2.8 out of an amd 64 (u never mentioned what one) is pretty good really. And with the AMD 64's...lowering the FSB with tighter memeory timings and running 1:1 is generally better. To anser your question...I would run 3dmark2001...erm yes..2001....to see which is giving you faster results. 2001 to me has the best sesitivity to FSB's and ram timings etc.
