Whats stopping my home network?

I've been giving the OCUK NWAR3670 a run out as I wanted a fast home network for barely no use (hence going cheap).

the router itself is pretty good if ugly, the connection is stable and there's plenty of features like being able to assign IP addresses which I don't have on my BE router but for some reason it flat refuses to allow connections between computers.

The daft thing is it has done this in the past, I've tried turning off all the firewalls just in case, tried a couple of PCs and a Mac and I can only assume it's a setting in the router?

Any suggestions of what to look for?

I'm fairly close to chucking in the towel and getting a Netgear DGN2200 but I'd rather not bin £30 if its something straightforward?

Thanks!

I'll be honest I don't know how to do that, do I just open up a cmd window and PING the IP address on the network ie 192.168..... ?

Does one of the computers have windows firewall enabled? Or has it snuck itself back to enabled behind your back?

Ping'ing between the two should be a good start, have you setup a share on one computer so the other can access it?
