Whats that flash/java script gallery called?

This script allows you to display a number of clickable thumbnails which when clicked, dim the browser windows (and the page you are browsing) and then expand to full size. The expanded image can then be closed by clicking its corresponding 'X' button upon which the larger image shrinks to the size of the thumbnail and the the page in the background becomes clickable again.

I have seen this script being used on many sites and I would love to know what its called. I also hope that I have explained it well :rolleyes:

Try Slimbox if you don't need all the bells and whistles that Lightbox has.

I prefer http://highslide.com/
Lightbox is overused and too intrusive to the content behind it.
