What's that website....

Last.fm with audioscrobbler has that capability and does it by seeing what you've been listening to and comparing it with what other people listen to.

i think musicplasma only goes on what other people bought on Amazon. it's given me some really crap results in the past...i wouldn't touch it with a stick anymore.

Just tried using it. I searched for Alexisonfire and it gave back some good results. :)

If your musical knowledge extends further than Coldplay and Lily Allen, then last.fm is the only way to go. The selection radio thingy they have there impressed me quite a bit, as it managed to pretty much pick music that I liked nearly all the time.

(It's a lot better than the "input one band you like and we'll find you music" kinda sites, as it changes constantly as you listen to more and more music, and gives you shedloads of recommendations per band in the "Similar tab". Musical neighbours are nearly always very accurate providing you listen to enough music. It's crazy because no matter how much you think you listen to a really mixed taste in music, there are loads of people who will be listening to exactly the same bands from each genre, in an almost scary kinda way)

i think it's a little more to do with the interface between itunes and audioscrobbler. and i dont exactly have the figures, but there could well be a very good reason that the ipod's gotten as popular as it has. it also has an easy interface, good battery life, nice bright screen and decent storage. fail to see what else you'd want from an mp3 player really :p

edit: Steedie - see post 2 deleted...that's the reason why :)

Too true

I get such a sense of achievement when I am the (or one of the) top fans of an artist, particularly one with few listeners. Sad I know, but then I am sad :o
