I remember reading about a wireless home entertainment device that connected to your home network wirelessly and allowed playback of pretty much any media file, including HD MOVs & WMVs.

What was it?

Something like the D-Link jobby above, but you need the DSM-520, which supports HD formats also.

I've got a DSM-320 and I think it's superb.

Are you suggesting to buy both the 320 and the 520? :p

Thing is I'm moving into quite a large room where I'll have the PC at one end, and my TV at the other.

Having a 15M DVI>HDMI cable is out of the question, so would this thing allow me to watch any shared videos on my PC?

Yes, there's a few such players around. If you're planning on watching HD stuff then wireless probably won't be up to the job.

Unless you can get hold of this kit:

Would seem to be able to handle HD ok, even factoring in that you will never see 300mbps.

That's the sort of kit I've been waiting for.

Been waiting to be able to wirelessly stream High Def content from my PC in the study upstairs, to my High Def LCD Panel in the lounge.

looks good wireless HD streaming.... but it still gonna be odd doesnt HDTV sets need HDMI and component/DVI sources? what bit goes on the end of the HDTV screen lol

Personaly I think its gonna be far easier to get a cheap HDTV output card with HDMI and a cheap dual core chip and build your own personal Media box with wireless card... later on add a blueray and HD reader why not ;)
