What's the 24"/27" like for gaming?

Having recently bought an MBP I'm getting sorely tempted to sell my main desktop and move to a 24" or 27" iMac. I'd have to move down from my beloved 30" Dell but that might be a sacrifice worth paying..

I rarely play cutting edge games but having the option is nice. So I wanted a few opinions on what gaming performance was like compared to, say, a mid range desktop (quad core Q9450, GTX260).

Also can you upgrade the GPU in an iMac?

Yes I'm slowly being won over by the cult of Mac

You can't get a 24" iMac anymore.

Its 21 or 27.

got a 24 inch imac and love it for gaming, am hoping the ati 4850 can handle Battlefield BC2 in march but without a demo i guess am going to have to wait

steam games look awesome on it (tf2,dod:s and l4d)

And if it can't handle it can you upgrade the card?

Nope, but its not bothering me that much just means i will play it on my HTPC instead
